In December of 2009, I came up with an idea to make 50 cakes in 2010. It seemed like an ambitious undertaking, but after some discussion with my girlfriend I realized that it would mean making about one cake every week.
50 cakes would mean that we could try to create many different types of cakes as well as invite friends to our apartment to taste these many cakes. As there is no way that the two of us could eat this much cake we are certainly hoping for volunteers to try them out and maybe even to take some home.
I will be keeping this site up to date with our cake baking escapades as well as including tips for future cake bakers. I will list my personal favorite cakes and maybe how much effort it took.
One disclaimer, I am by no means a professional cook and have made only a handful of cakes as of the writing this page but my hope is that I will be a much better baker by the completion!
